Newcastle Rugby 7s

Come and see NSW’s young stars in Newcastle!

Rugby 7s is one of the fastest growing sports with the popularity of the game highlighted at the recent Rio Olympics where the Australia women’s team won the gold medal.

The success of both Australian women’s and men’s teams on the world stage see the NSW Waratahs 7s program being developed to provide a clear participation pathway into the sport for every man, woman and child across NSW.

One of the highlights of the Rugby 7s calendar in 2017 will be the Under 20 Men’s & Open Women’s 7s State Championships to be played in Newcastle on the weekend of TBC.

The tournament is being organised by the Newcastle Hunter Rugby Union and NSW Waratahs. Support is being provided by the Hawthorne Club which focuses on the development and growth of rugby in the Newcastle and Hunter Region.
